Maya, Shake Workflow On Linux?

Hi there,

i've just want to know, what would be the best way to have a dual bootable 64bit machine setup, running both
XP and Linux apps, like Photoshop, AE, Premiere, Maya and Shake ??

I've heard Fedore Core 3 is for many the prefered OS and that it is relatively easy to configure for NVidia
graphics cards, but what about the major problems being connected to a NAS/SAN running on LINUX.

Anybody experience with large scale setups ??

Are there any major problems with 64 bit OS ??

shouldn't be any problems with 64 bit. i use 8.5 and 7 on Suse and 32 bit and 64 bit both, all solid. installing the nvidia drivers isn't hard.
what's NAS/SAN?

NAS/SAN = Network Attached Storage / Storage Area Network (essentially network fileservers)

I think Suse linux is quite easy to configure for a dual boot.

The distribution won't matter much at all other then for convenience of package management etc. As for SAN it all depends on what filesystem/setup your studio is using (ie. sgi offers a commercial SXFS SAN filesystem for Linux etc.)
64bit is no problem at all (ie running Maya with 3Deligh/Renderman Studio all native 64bit) nor is running 32bit apps like Shake on a 64bit system.
