Well, yes im not so much against the wish list. But also in the form we have it is as useless as the alias suggested one. Wich i somehow dont se alias reading.
But i think having a new foruym for this si a better idea.
in my view a shprt instruction reading like this.
"This is a wishlist forum for new features, before you post a wish think what maya allready has to offer, and why the current implementation isnt for you. Keep it brief and tidy. Be prepared to explain further.
Then think what the general solution for your thing is, mainly becasue the maya way is to make general solutions over veru specific ones. Example: instead of making a node to automaticaly drive point positions based on bone pose. You want a easy to use editting mechanism for storing different point transforms, and reloading them. And a datadriver that reads the data this datagenereator makes. Thisway you get a much more general solution that can be used to different purposes and serves as a modular structure for the underlying thing. The base user would offcourse never see the difference but the true pottenttial for extending maya usage is immense. Offcourse if you can split it into 3 or 4 fully independent functional parts even better.
Dont wish for functions maya allready has. "
Then maybe it would nbe better to:
Then maybe we need a poll for each post where you can vote for need of functionality, maybe priority for wish. Note the system must be such that you CANT allways wish for everything.
Then it should be collated up every few moths or so.
Bad idea?
