Believe me I have been trying to fix this issue for months upon months. I haven't just been sitting here complaining. I have tried every single thing everyone has ever suggested.
When you say something like that you certainly are drawing a complete conclusion as to what us people who have been experiencing the problem are doing! And it certainly isn't helping anyone involved.
Just because we have a problem doesn't mean we are inexperienced and don't know what we are doing, or that we aren't TRYING to fix it.
Many of us know a lot about Linux and have been using Maya and Linux for many many years. There is no need to put that generalization on us. It doesn't help in the slightest!
And again, I have said it many times. I have not ruled out ANYTHING. I have never said that it is only a bug and that there is only one way to fix it. It could just as easily be fixed with a configuration change, and believe me, I would love to find that long lost fix!
I completely agree with you that obviously there is something somewhere between our systems that is different and causing the leak. More than likely it a configuration or system difference that may be able to be fixed. But again, that has nothing to do with whether it is a bug or not. The bug is the fact that something is going amiss for quite a few varied systems.
Well lets (both of us) stop laying assumptions on each other about our experience with Linux/Maya and our ability to change configurations. Lets just concentrate on ways to actually fix the problem.
