MicroStation -> XSI?

Hiyall

I need to convert some MicroStation-made files into XSI, and I have no clue what to do. Perhaps someone of you is familiar with MicroStation and could shed light on this matter?

I got an .iges file, a .dgn file, a .mat file, and a .log file.

I tried importing the IGES file via 3dsMAX to XSI, converting the NURBS into polygons on the way, but the resulting mesh is full of bugs and some objects didn't come out at all. Naturally IGES doesn't have any material information, so even if the IGES import worked properly I'd still like a better solution. I have no clue what those other files are, besides that they are native to MicroStation...

So is there a converter that can read .dgn and .mat files, or can they be exported from MicroStation in some better way?

Thanks!

i havent used microstation for about a year, and i havent been in touch with v8 (assuming thats the version your using)
I cant recall now, but:

.mat files are your texture libraries.....
and there is another file for that associates your textures with elements in your scene.

also in the post about rhino,

apparently the iges relationship with xsi has been giving him grief. the recomendation was .obj (does microsation handle that?)
so, hmmmm i guess im not that sure either.

good luck
