Hey All,
Hoping someone can shed some light on this problem...?
I have uses Mayas mirror skin weights function with great success for a long time now. But, recently I have started to use nurbs curves and surfaces as influences in my skinClusters (skin->edit smooth skin->add influence...with "use geometry" ON). This is a great way to acheive deformations from within your skinCluster that you wouldn't otherwise get by using joints alone.
The only problem being...they dont seem to mirror correctly!
Any time I try I get a warning like this -
// Warning: line 1: Skipping influence 'lf_toplid_xx03_crv'. No mirror found. //
for each geometry influence.
I've tried a few things to try and fix this, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution?
As far as things I've tried... the first was to make sure each influences rotate and scale pivots were all in unique positions and were worldSpace mirrors of their left/right counterparts. The other thing I tried was to make sure the local translate values accurately represent the objects worldSpace (pivot) position...which I have heard is a good practice when using geometry influences.
Anyway.....all help and suggestions greatly appreciated!
Cheers.
