I,ve modeled a few rodents (cartoon characters) and I tried to use maya's hair system to add some long hairs around the beasties nose area. I presumed that maya's hair system was the best and easiest option (using maya 6.01) so I added a few poly plains (using subd for the models) and created a single hair nurb curve on each of them. This allows for some cool animation, so I was a happy bunny. But this is where I am stuck. Can I modifiy the hairsystem setting to create the single hairs, do I need to use a brush....how do I now create and render out the hair curves?
