I walk into work todya and my monitor is all kinds of f'ed up. Basacally , in order to get white and balkc i have had to crank my Contrats up to almost 100 and my brightness down to about 10 .. this doesn't seem right at all. Anyone have any suggestions as to a proper monitor calibration or what might be wrong with it>?
ok.. heres somthing. I cranked my color tmp to 9300 and it looks a lot better.. This doesn't seem right eithrer though , Is one of these black SGI montiors. at home I have had the same Hittachi monitor for about 3 or more years and I love it . this one, i don't love so much.
monitor calibration, is a bitch, and unless someone has the same monitor and knows how to calibrate it, I think you'll just have to trust yourself. One thing I am certain is that the contrast at 100 seems to be the norm with all monitors. Did your graphics card come with a monitor utility? If so try using it again and again, you might not get it the first time. Another thing I have noticed with most monitors is the color calibration, try to keep all three color at the same level, most likely it will ask you to choose the closest match for the colors, play with all three, choose the color with the closest match, then put all three at the same level. One way to check if its right is to scan in photoshop and see if the colors are well represented. This should give you a good star, trying to give you pointers without seeing the monitors internal utility, is almost impossible. Maybe you can take a screen shot of it, I'm not sure if that will work though. aright nuf said.
OH dang, I just realized what monitor your talking about, there was about 50 or more at school, and they are pieces-O-crap, every single one of them was fubar. All I can say is if it was ok when you left work, and it wasn't when you got back, you got shafted. My suggestion is, stay late working one day at work, and switch it out with someone else. I know, it sounds wrong, but just do it to someone your not to keen about. tehe Dang I wish I had the answer for you.
I got it right . Seems werid that I have to crank the contrast to practically 100% and teh brightness down to around 10% and crank the color temp to 9300 to get anyhting decent That doesn't seem rigtht at all . Again. I hope my home hitachi never goes bad , its the best monitor I have ever used.
