Monitors: 21" or 19"

Could sbdy please suggest a good CRT monitor,
which can be used for digital art/maya purpose?

well it's all up to you really. Personally my eyes are important to me, so I opted for a 21" , I run at 1280*1024 and I somehow still have to sit up and get close to the screen to read from time to time.
Moreover I spend enough hours on my computer for a 21" to be justified.

I recommend a refresh rate of 85hz and above at the resolution you choose to work at, because anything under can turn out to be very uncomfortable.

trinitrons in my opinion are still kickass and are quite affordable these days...

Agreed you only get one set of eyes. Personally I like the Mitsubushi 2060u - now this is really nice.

Sort neck so if space is a problem this does help and it does seem to have razor sharp images.

If you live in Southern California

I saw a dude selling 21" SGI monitors at the ACP and TRW meet last week... $125!!! These are the black ones which came out in 1999-2000. My dad and bro each bought one and I am shooting myself in the foot for not getting it. The quality on these things rock.

Otherwise, I'd go with Trinitron or Lacie if you plan on spending good dough. IF you're lucky, might be able to find a kickass Sony 24 inch.

If you do intend to work alot on your computer, then a good display is unavoidable. I would recommend you iiyama monitors, the Vision Master Pro 450 or 510 (19" and 21"). They feature the Mitsubishi flat square tube, and they are quite affordable.
