More weighting problems

hi-

whenever i paint weights on my model thats been rigged i just get this error message in the script editor

any idea whats going on?

Which deformer are you painting? Describe the situation better.

i bound the root of my rig to my polycharacter using a smooth bind and then tried just painting the skin weights using the smooth bind paint weights tool and i get that error everytime i try and paint

select the skin and open the paint skin weight tool box. scroll down the list and make sure that none of the weights are locked. (tip: make yourself 2 mel buttons to lock and unlock all the weights) then it's just a matter of unlocking only the 2 or 3 joints you want to work with and start painting. if you are saying that none of the weights read 'locked' in that tool box window, then you will have to provide the steps you went through when you bound the rig to the skin because the problem is probably with that initial binding process. good luck.

im having the same problem, when i try to set the weights using painting skin weights i get this error "Warning: Locked influences prevented enforcement of the max influences on some points."
i dont know what to do, o r ho i can unlock influences?, this is make me crazy

anyway this happens when i select my skin then my bones and do Smooth bind skin.

how can i fix it?, pls help me
