is there some way to get the mouse position on screen? I would like to be able to place windows, depending on where the mouse is. just for really fast access.
I just wrote my first plugin :-))
you can download it here:
http://tnt.m-otion.at/plugins/tnt_mouseInfo1_30.mllhttp://tnt.m-otion.at/plugins/tnt\_mouseInfo1\_30.mll
or
http://tnt.m-otion.at/plugins/tnt_mouseInfo1_40.mllhttp://tnt.m-otion.at/plugins/tnt\_mouseInfo1\_40.mll
this is a command-plugin and the name of the new command is "getMousePosition". It returns an int array.
Here is an example of how to use it:
//*********************************************
int $mousePos[] = getMousePosition;
window testWindow;
window -e -tlc $mousePos[0] $mousePos[1] testWindow;
showWindow testWindow;
//*********************************************
this creates a window a the current mouse position

uhh I forgot to mention that it is for w2k
Now that Maya runs on 4 different OSes I really hope that the API will take care of some of these OS specific things.... I'd like to have the ability to track mouse moves, mouse hovers and right mouse button events without resorting to OS specific code.

yeah thats kinda what I was hoping for... I guess its something thats not super nessecary, but I must say I find it a little odd that it can't do something that simple.
