I just redid my topology a bit on this character mesh to get rid of some poles and triangles. The problem now is that my edge loop distribution is all wonky in some places. Also, it was already a problem that the geometry in some areas is not really following the curves enough. I was not worrying about the legs much before but it has gotten kind of bad (at least compared to rest of model).
I have tried to do move edge loop but that causes big problems as far as not really keeping the shape. Trying to use the relax or smooth has the same problem, too. I can reproject it in zbrush after making the topology have the flow I want and bring it back in, but every single time I do that I end up having to fix a bunch of issues then go back and forth painstakingly and reproject my stuff in zbrush onto the mesh again as well. That takes forever to do without losing a bunch of detail.
I don't want to fully redo the topology because I have spent a crazy amount of time getting it this far so that would be the worst option. Otherwise I might try the make live thing.
Is there some other way to go about this either in maya or zbrush?
It seems like such a simple and obvious thing to have but there seems to be no package where it is really easy to move verts and keep the original shape.
