I'm fairly new to Maya, so what may seem like a simple thing to achieve is somewhat perplexing to me still. I'm trying to successfully map a movie file to sprites, or even just a plane, but so far, no dice. I'm using Maya 3.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I'm using NT. Thanx!!
use a sequence, not a movie.
Well, in Maya 3 you CAN use a movie file (as well as a sequence).
It's under the Create Render Node > Texture, listed as:
movie

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I've already tried both, the sequence does seem to work, but since 3.0 seems to support quicktime movies I thought maybe I was doing it wrong. Could it be a bug? Has anyone out ther been able to get a movie file to work yet, and if so exactly what compression scheme did you use? Thanx again.
