Moving Attributes

Hi!
Ok, so here's what I'm trying to do. I have an attribute I made on one control and I want to move it to anouther control. Is there a way to move the entire attribute and all it's connections. As opposed to linking it in the conection editor to an attribute of the same name on the second control than hiding the attribute on the first control??

No theres no way of moving it woithout doing it all by hand (note thet the way maya works even opening a file you do it manualy again from scratch).

Its not so hard to querry the incomming atribute connection value etc then disconnect delete and create assign value and connect if such a thing was there. I mean its 4 lines of code. I mena you do it once and use that proc forewer.

Do you think you could explain how to do it with code a little more please? How do I 'disconnect'??

Cant you just open mel reference (hit f1 ,scroll and open developpers rescources...) and type "disconnect" in the by substrings box? After this, its not terribly hard to tip ehat the command to do so is now is it.

disconnectAttr object.SourceAttrib otherObject.destinationAttrib;
