hi all.. I have another question... I have a mesh that I can deform with some clusters and some lattices.. the problem is that when I want to move the mesh I need a way for the deformers to go with it.. I have tried grouping them all together and parenting them all to a locator.. however they don't move together quite right... I guess I have the "Double Deformation" problem... thanks much for the help in the past and now!
OK. I got the lattices to move with it properly.. (needed to select the lattice base in addition to the lattice) however.. when I rotate a cluster and then move the mesh with the cluster things get a little strange... any ideas?
Hi !To get the deformers move properly with the mesh, parent its base to it, and then the entire deformer to a bone assigned to the mesh.I have the same problem with clusters. Some of them, parented to a bone of the mesh work fine, some dont.Just unparent the ones that give you the strange results and it should be fine .Sincerely Shinap
Ok.. I think I have the cluster problem figured out.. (well a workaround anyway).. do the clusters first then skin the mesh... then parent the clusters to the bone... that worked for me...
I have to squeek in here. Your clusters have an option box (in the attribute editor) called relative. Click this ON and parent them to the approriate bone. If relative is turned OFF they will not move with your skeleton properly. If clusters are not parented to their appropriate place, then they will have the wrong pivot and really mess up your animation.
