MR Batch Render ends early

Hi there

Have a problem batch rendering with MR

The render progresses OK until about 60 - 100 frames in when it will halt. The batch process is still active but MR has failed with a message in the render log -

Error:(Mayatomr): unexpected internal exception during scene rendering, please report
Error(Mayatomr) : unexpected internal exception during scene cleanup, please report

Now, having observed the task manager during the batch render I suspect this is related in some way to a memory issue

Intially 800 - 850 Mb is in use but this will steadily climb towards 1.7 - 1.75 Gb as the batch process progresses until it errors out (2Gb memory in PC)

I have tried exactly the same file on a different PC where I have seen it progress happily WITHOUT the memory usage increasing significantly from the initial 800 - 850Mb

So settings within the scene are not at fault

Is there some over-all MR environment file / settings file / variables file that I can access outside of the main program to deal with this issue? Or is there someway I should set up the PC to eliminate the problem

Only major difference between PC's is failing PC runs XPPro, succesful PC runs Win2000

Any help or insights very welcome

Sounds like a memory leak in XP. What version of maya is this? It's best to render in small packets anyway. You coudl use the free version of Smedge2 or other programs to issue smaller packets of frames to be renderered. THis will clear the memeory before it causes a problem.

did you ever figure out this problem? I am getting the same error trying to do one test render at 320x240 on Win XP Pro.
