Multi monitor

I am running XSI2.0.1 on win XP with two monitors one on a geforce 2 and one on a old ATI rage iic(4mb) and I want to stop XSI using the ATI, how do I do this without removing the monitor from my windows desktop.

Any help welcome.

You can use a single monitor layout and pull XSI on to one monitor.

How does XSI work on the dual monitor/grafik card setup? did you encounter any problems?, I was thinking of buying another card to run XSI on dual?

It works great. But I would suggest buying a video card with 2 outputs on it rather than 2 video cards. Windows has trouble with OpenGL when using seperate cards. But with a single card it will work fine. (although I've heard that Microsoft "sort of" fixed this in XP.

If I use 2 cards, will I still be able to keep openGL acceleration on at least ONE of my cards?, I just want to have all my non OGL interface stuff on one monitor and all my views in another monitor.

i tried with a quadro 2 pro and a pci tnt2.
xp p4 1.8 1G ram yada yada yada
and xsi 2.01 crashed as soon as it went to initialise the 2 screens .
oh for a quadro 4
anyone sick enough to try one of the 4 monitor support bad boys?

XSI 2.0.1 works ok with my geforce 2 GTS and ATI rage IIC, the rage doesn't support opengl so this isn't a problem.

um... but how do you managet the 2 screens? can you use Nview or what?

did you need to do anything to get them to respond properly? i thought geforce 2 mx was the only geforce 2 to support nview.

XSI puts the normal(I presume) display on the main(windows primary) monitor and the second monitor is just an empty screen, which I use for netview, property editors, render tree and all floating windows.I didn't have to do anything to make it work, nview seems to work fine on my Geforce 2 GTS 32Mb DDR(detonator 28.32).
