Anyway, asside from moving the camera from shot to shot. See reference documentation on "Shared Files". This allows you to reference scenes without duplicating data.
1. You will probably only need one scene to reference. Let's say it's a car driving through a city. So save this file as you normally would.
2. Then follow the instructions on how to set it up for sharing. Basically you will just be moving it into a directory called "shared files" which is already present in your database.
3. Then once you open it as a share you can save out different scene names with cameras.
For example.
Scene1-Camera at position 1.
Scnen2- Camera at position2.
etc.
Yes, I and the rest of 3D user agree it is a needed feature. Softimage is well aware of this issue. However, it is an issue with the 3D architecture, and not possible in 3D. The database nature of 3D, makes it a little easier to switch around with scenes, so you should still be productive.
