Multiple nurbs patch surface creation

I used to use Maya 2.5, now I'm on XSI and I need to know of a way to create the multiple NURBS patch surfaces for character creation. I need that continuous, smooth, seamless look that is quite easy to accomplish in Maya. Does anyone know of a way to create these types of surfaces for character modelling in XSI? I seem to be having a difficult time trying to use the limited modelling tools in the first version of XSI to accomplish this task, and I can't simply wait for version 1.5 to come out in December because I just don't have the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure where to start that's a big question. In addition, most current users build geometry in 3.9 and import into XSI. However, a couple of features to look at:

  1. Surface Continuity Manager. Found in Model/SurfaceMesh. This features maintains continuity between multiple surfaces.
  2. Assemble. (Same Location). This features assembles multiple sufaces into a single which can help with texturing etc.

If you have maintenance, I would make a list of features you use in Maya and ask specifically how to duplicate the feature in XSI. If not try to post your list here.

Sorry I can't be more help,
Urp

You might want to look over Jeremy Birns SCM tutorials, might help a bit, they're here on highend3d. Also if you still have access to maya you can of course model there and bring over your model, though not without some hassle.
