Hi, pretty much a maya newb but i did manage to make some characters with the CPS script based on my favorite game (TeamfortressClassic). The first character is the second every serious model i attempted and is of a combat medic, the second character was trying to model some muscles more and is based on a heavy weapons carrying fat man .
I would like to know several things if possible.
1.Are the proportions correct? 2.What suggests do you have for texturing and surfacing these. 3.I am concerned about the big guys trousers, just cant get his crotch right, any suggestions? 4.Is it possible to create wrinkles in the big guys trousers by using displacement maps? I am rendering in PRman at present. 5.Anything else you might have spotted.
Your stuff is great. You have a nice style and a good eye for proportions and detail. I would have replied earlier, but I don't have much time to post today.
If I have to give some criticism...
The hands/gloves could use a little more refinement, especially in the palms.
The biceps don't appear to insert into the radius . This is commonly overlooked since the insertion moves according to whether or not the palm is up or down.
The Pectorialis major seem a little far out (on masked model). The pects should follow an imaginary curve that flows between the biceps and deltoids.
The sides of his neck seem a little thin for such large trapesius muscles (green model).
This stuff is pretty picky. I think for what you intend the models for, they are done, but perhaps the remarks are of some use.
Thanks very much for the kind words and advice. Ill have to dig out that anatomy book again to figure out exactly what you mean but im sure it will help
