hi,
a little background: i was a professional photographer, but i've taken time off in order to learn maya. i am self taught, with a lot of help from this wonderful site. my idea is to get to such a level that i might find work in 3d and focus on that rather than photography...
this rusty face is my first serious face model.. i started with nurbs, then polys and finally tried out subd for the first time... then i messed around with the combining textures....
i've also uploaded some wireframes and a maya software render here
i'd love to hear your opinions and criticism or tips of course.

(btw, not as important but what causes the artifacts on the displaced background?)
