I hope someone can offer some advice on this problem. I'm getting these nasty black flickering artifacts in Maya's HighQuality viewport rendering (which I need to display normalmaps) as you can see in attached jpg 1.
In jpeg 2, you can see that the artifacts are related to the triangles/topology of the mesh.
And in jpeg 3, you can see that they flicker across various different polys as the camera is rotated around.
Jpeg 4 shows default quality viewport rendering which has no artifacting issues .
(The problem also shows up in Hardware renders.)
Now this is my secondary computer that has the issue. It's a tablet pc, & as such it has a pretty mediocre videocard: mobile intel(R) 4 series express chipset family ( Mobile Intel® GS45 Express Chipset ). It seems odd though that the problem isn't that it can't render normalmaps, but rather seems to be stemming from rendering polys, which it renders fine in default mode. I have the latest drivers for it & have messed around with all the 3D settings it gives access to.
In Maya I've messed around with the high quality rendering settings, preferences--> display settings, & tried different kinds of lights (they all give the problem, including the default light).
Suggestions or work-arounds greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
