Need Help, Begginer

Hello,

I'm new with shake and I have a problem, I try to work with jpg images, but every time I click filein and select this kind of images and click ok shake suddenly closes so I cann't do anything. I've been workin with tiff images but theu are too big.
Can some one please help me?

It might be bennificial at this point to uninstall and reinstall shake. I would try to use a higher quality image like a .tga (targa file) instead.

It really sounds like you have some bad bugs in there.

Did you try to drag and drop the jpeg/tiff image over the node workspace? Maybe that'll work... as a temporary solution

cant be of much help other than suggesting trying jpeg generated by different applications or checkin the console to troubleshoot..

it tiffs are too big, then i doubt tga will be of much use. you could try iff (fast) or png (bit smaller) though.

Try using png's and premultilpy them...could work out for ya!

Yes, As some one said reinstall shake first

and according to shake user manual

use iff or rgb(sgi) as your inputs so as to increase the interactivity.

these files doesnt create cache ( time saved )

other file formats take a lot of time to scrub thro ( pic, tga, tif etc )

you know why?

Because those file formats are written top down instead of bottom up.
