I am a fairly new user to Maya, though I may have had Maya 8.0 previously I have recently installed Maya 2008. I have been collecting some MEL scripts and upon looking for the path to put them in, I am finding several different "scripts" folders with little clues about which one is the right one.
the best thing to do is to look at the little screengrab to understand what Im talking about.
Can anyone tell me what's going on, and which one to use? Also, which icons folder do i use?

Well actually it could be any of them, but usually only the 2 second ones should be used for maya 2008 for 8.0 its the one under 8.0 and the one directly under maya + scripts.
Idea si that those scripts that just apply to 8.0 go under the pref number directory ones that apply to all goes under the scripts.
However you can make as many folders as you like and name them as you like and have maya fetch from there. It is actually impossible to say how anybody chooses to configure the folder structures, it is up to you.
