hi there!
im new to softimage and so i would need help on materials. ive got to make an aluminium bevcan and a bag(containing medicine) made of aluminium foil.
i finished both meshes and now i have to create the materials for those objects. they are both made of alu, so i would need a silver metallic material with distorted highlights and a reflection map. i will render this objects using global illumination. my scene uses indirect light via a colorsharing sphere(robot tutorial). i think this will effect the highlights, cause there are no "real" lights in the scene. do i need direct light to create the metal-typical highlights?
could anybody give me a short hint on how to create such a material.
or does anybody know where to get an "instant" ready to use shader for download?
i know this isnt very creative but i'm short on time cause i've got to finish 2 other objects 'till next monday too. so im pretty stressed and have no time to play around myself.
