I'm an animation student in my senior year. There is a lot of Maya that I still don't know, yet I am still somewhat embarrassed that I do not know the answer.
I modeled and rigged and weighted a character, modeling the mask he was meant to wear separately. I am not a great modeler, and I quite loathe doing it anyhow. I'd much rather be animating or sculpting in mudbox with my big shiny new intuos3 SE, so I modeled the mask separate. I did this to save time because I was having lots of trouble making the topology work and look correct modeling a gasmask on to a head.. I figured that I would either combine the geometry or use a constraint. I got excited and forgot to combine the two meshes before I skinned the rig I made. Then I weighted it. OOPS???
My question is how do I get the character to wear the mask? I tried a point constraint, and it's not working. Can somebody walk me through this on a very basic level, assuming that I know nothing about constraints. I wish I could take more classes.
Thanks a million.
