Hey all,
I moved my XSI install to another machine on my network here as I upgraded Drives. I left my database Directories and Textures Folders exactly how they had been on the other computer (didnt feel like moving tons of stuff)
Now when I open scenes after listing the database in project manager I am missing all my textures!!! I have those directories shared on the other computer and since Im opening the database from a network standpoint why do the textures get left behind? I have all the textures in one directory so I thought "No problem Ill use the browse filter" found when you hit CNTRL ENTER. This thing doesnt seem to understand my language as I type in a new path and it thinks then stops. In the end im left with allot of red markers and allot of cutting and pasting the same path to get my textures back.......
Can anyone hand me the flashlight on this one?

Open the scene file and do a:
File > Sources.
change all your paths here. The pathnames to textures and other external elements are stored within the scene. Until you update it, they'll remain oriented to their original locations. when you're done working and need to save, make sure you activate "copy external to project" in the save as dialog. This will update the paths and copy data to point to the current machine
