Hello,
I just want to let people know about JefeCheck, an image sequence player (flipbook) that I developed while working at Ollin Studio. It was developed with a lot of user input from the compositing and 3D artists so it is very easy to use. On the other hand, it is also quite flexible so it can integrate into your pipeline very easily.
I know for example that a lot of people really don't like FrameCycler in its latest versions, so JefeCheck can be used instead of it while working in Nuke.
*It is very fast multi threaded loading for both DPX, EXR, JPEG, TGA, etc... (and you can playback cached portions while loading the rest, which is a real timesaver).
*Loads any EXR channel up to 16 bit HALF floating point (32bit full float soon, but there doesn't seem to be much demand for it).
*Realtime HDR processing in a 16bit HALF floating point pipeline.
*Many filters (called FXs) that can be applied in real time to create precomps, difference mattes, apply 3D and 1D LUTs, primary color correction, anaglyph stereo comps and much more (filters are written in the OpenGL Shading Language, so you can create new filters very easily)
Command line options for script integration into nuke.
*Remote Sessions: You can connect with another JefeCheck station and load everything you do on your computer will be replicated on theirs and viceversa.
*Many load options like: compressed loading (fit 8 times more frames in ram with only a slight loss in quality similar to jpeg compression), Region of Interest (load only parts of a frame), scaled loading (50,25 or anything else).
*Full of useful shortcuts requested by our artists (it was developed in house after all).
*Video tutorials and more comming soon.
*Free watermarked demo version (and a commercial license cheaper than most others)
*Runs on Windows, Mac OS X(Intel Only) and Linux (32 and 64 bit!).
I am only just starting to sell it commercialy, so any feedback or feature requests will most definitely be taken into account.
There is a new demo video showing off the features that set it appart from other players and you can also download the demo version.
There are more things I want to add to it in the future but for now you can check it out at http://www.jefecheck.com
If you have any questions please ask me!
Daniel.
