Yep could totally do that -- just a lot of node work -- quickpaint, paint on matte, color correct to remove the color. I have a number of spots of green spill over a bunch of frames. Just wondered if there was a way to use quickpaint to suck color out of the plate rather than add...
you seem to confuse painting in order to add a solid color (like green spots) with color correcting only certain areas... there is no way you can paint a "minus" solid color.. if you paint with mangenta color on top of a green spot you will not get a neural area because you also change the structure of the image.
if you really had to you could try painting out the spots with a solid color and overlay it with an appropiate a layer blending mode.. however, as this wont be less work and will give you less control than a masked color correction and dont see why you'd want to do it.
btw, since when is 3 nodes "a lot of node work"?
