ok ive used programs like truespace whilst at college (dont laugh lol) but now after graduating uni i really want to learn maya, anyways we all have to start somewhere and so i thought you guys would help me out with this fairly simple problem
im using a book to learn (learning maya7 foundation ISBN 1-894893-74-3) and whilst i find it very good (i really am confused by applying textures though) there seems to be one stumbling block. when i set up an animation of a solar system, i animate all the planets to spin etc and set the f curves to pre and post infinity. i do everything by the book, but when i press play it goes back to frame 1 and the planets are all lined up perfectly. they start like that, but as they have varying speeds when it completes surely it should just continue and not reset itself?
im really confused and any help would be much appreciated. im not looking to become the next john lassiter, im just a graphic designer looking to make a few short films
