Newbie Problem....interface setup

Hello,
I am a total newbie reading volumes and struggling with the learning curve. I cannot seem to turn off the bar at the bottom that tells you what each mouse button does. It keeps covering my playback menu controls and is driving me nuts. I checked preferences and had no luck. Any thoughts?

Hi ece3k,
unfortunately the status bar is the only element of the xsi interface that you cannot customize (that is hide it or move it). XSI is supposed to run full screen. To properly see the bottom playback and animation controls turn on the auto-hide option in your windows taskbar preferences.
Or - if you know your way around xsi - just redesign the whole interface from scratch (it's very easy) - thus you can put the playback/animation/expression toolbars a little higher...or in fact anywhere you want.
