Newbie question:attaching multiple curves together

Hi. I created multiple curves but can't figure out how to attach them into one curve. In 3dsmax I just select the "attach" button and pick the curves I want to attach the base curve to. There doesnt seem to be any "attach" or "join" feature in the curve modifier. I have tried both "stitch" and "merge" with bizarre results.

anyone out there know?

You have to use the merge funtion.

Do Model > Curve > Merge
-Pick first curve
-Pick last point of first curve
-Pick second curve
-Pick first point of second curve

thanks! It created a new curve. How do I delete the original "source" curves without it also erasing my newly created one?

Select the newly created object and hit the freeze button on the MCP.

Keep in mind that freezin will break the relation to the orignating object.
