No hypershade window

BIZZARE BUT TRUE- on starting up Maya 5 i get a error message of - procedure not found "filteredCollection". I try open the hypershade window but its blank and i get another error message- object not found "firstPaneTabs".

I have tried the XP and 2000 operating systems, deleting recently installed scripts (last one was a locator on CV script from this site) and reinstalling Maya. Also i've been checking my other computer where Maya is running OK but i can't find any answers.

I really don't want to waste loads of time reformatting my HD but that seems to be the only option... or is it????

Usualy reneming your prefs dir is sufficent and reinstalling maya wont help. bacuse the prefs stay!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried renaming prefs and restarting but i get the same problem (all the other windows are OK exept the Hypershade)

Do you have any idea which My Documents>Maya folders i should delete before doing another install?

well i sorted it out. The hypershade.mel scripts in Bonus Tools 5 (from the AW site) where causing the problem, apart from that it got some excellent scripts/ plugins.
