nodePreset save path

i have been looking at the nodePreset command and i was hoping that someone out there knows how to change the path to which the presets are saved. by default it goes in /maya/6.0/presets/. is there an option variable or something that controls this?

Maya has an enviroment variable called MAYA_PRESET_PATH which I presume let's you redirect where it saves those files.
