Noob Question: Missing Layer Node?

First question and post here. I'm an ultra noob to Shake so please be gentle. I'm leaning on my own on my works copy of Shake during my downtime. Some of the tutorials I have are for Shake 3.0 which I'm assuming has some difference from Shake 4. I can't seem to find a basic layer node in my Shake 4. In the Layer tab it has :
AddMix
AddText
Atop
Common
Constraint
COpy
IAdd
IDiv
IMult
etc...

but no Node that just says Layer. Did the do away with that and replace it with something else or... what? A tut. that I'm doing mentions it and now I'm stuck because I can't find it. Can I use Multilayer instead. I've done multiple searches online and have not ran across any topics addressing this yet.

I'm using Shake v4.0 on 10.4.5 on a G5 (and sometime a Laptop G4).

Don't have 4.1, but Layer ist just a collection of all other layrs in one node, you can change the layer type, without having to change the node.
I rarely use it.
