Hi All, I am Emmanuel Katto. I'm trying to use a normal map in Maya, but it's not showing up correctly. I've created the normal map in Substance Painter and exported it as a 1024x1024 PNG file. When I import it into Maya, the normal map looks distorted and doesn't seem to be affecting the surface of the model at all.
I've tried the following:
- Importing the normal map as a texture, and applying it to the model using a material
- Using the "Normal Map" shader in Maya, and setting the normal map as the "Normal Map" input
- Trying different texture coordinates (UVW, UV, and World) to see if it makes a difference
But still the model just looks like it's getting lit normally, without any of the detail or depth that I'm expecting from the normal map.
Has anyone else had this issue before? What could be the problem?
