I work for a game company and keep running into a problem where all the normals on my character will be fine. However, once the character gets skinned and rigged, the normals go funky. However if I detach the skinning the normals go back to being good. Anybody know why the normals are going all screwy once the character gets rigged? This is before the character starts animating, while it is still in default pose. I can always "set to face" then "average normals" after its rigged but then that adds to its history, and the normals will go bad (black and weird grey areas) really quick.
