hello everyone,

i am looking to purchase a laptop, mostly for aftereffects work, and occasionally for some light maya as well. it needs to be relatively light, with good screen quality (i am also hoping to be able to take my work outside), and easily uprgadeable, just in case. i am undecided about mac vs pc and open to either option. my only fear of purchasing mac, since i need to do this in the next week, is that they will roll out a much better option than the current powerbook at mac expo and i will feel jipped. i would greatly appreciate any suggestions. my budget should not exceed $2500, under 2K would be preferable.

no expansion on laptops... they are pretty mcuh what you se and yoru stuck at that level. Thing is theres allways something better behind the corner. So forget what is available to morrow and expanding.

That sai d laptops make bad workstations Only desktop boxces have any prayer of upgrade, enen then its a bit dubious to think theres any use of doing so.
