Nuke 4.7 Viewer Changes

Hey all, basically we got Nuke 4.7 up and running and love some of the new stuff, however, the changes to the viewer are really driving us crazy. In paticular the fact you can not set and range numerical. I know there are sliders for setting the range but we work on shots that are anywhere from 30 to 8000 frames and if you have 8000 frames in that area to try to slide to it is a real pain. Also we have been noticing the play back in the viewer is pretty much gone now. 4.5 we could hit play and once it went through once, on 100 frame shots, it would then be able to play back in real time. Is there any way we can get the viewer from 4.5 to work in 4.7?

I think the numerical inputs might be brought back, seems like a few people weren't too happy with the change, so just hang in there a little.

If you say the caching/playback doesn't work anymore make sure that your memory settings are in tact (i.e. cache location and size). It seems to work for me but I'm at home looking at low res footage on my laptop so that doesn't count .

Please report this to support, too to make sure it gets looked into.

Thanks for the response. Yeah the memory thing could be the problem, we had to lower ours to use 2gigs only. We have 64 bit machines with 4 gigs in them and were having problems with Nuke crashing when it tried to go over the 2 gig limit. Hmmm hope they get a 64 bit version soon, would love to use all my memory.

hi,

with nuke 4.7v3, you can zoom and pan in the frame range as you can in the dag
( alt+click or alt + middle click)
it is not better than to set manually the frame range, but it helps.
i hope the old stuff will be back in the next release...

you can set the frame range manually in 4.7.3 just like before.
There is however a bug where the frame range field doesn't sync itself to the script range anymore. That's logged an should be fixed soon.
