Numeric Transform of selected points?

What's the fastest way to numerically rotate or scale some selected vertices?

Do you have to keep making Clusters out of them, or is the a better/faster way to turn on normal channel box options when selecting components?

Thanks,

umm mel script? but theres a transform type in top right in maya (transofm quick select rename etc...) if it doesent do this then i sure can quickly be converted to do it. Alos making a window that does this is not hard either!

way to turn on normal channel box options when selecting components?

not sure what your saying

.. with components selcted the cbox has a listing of CVs that you clck to unferl xyz tweak fields, or use component editor for absolute world pos, or as joojaa said the numeric input field, or in the attrib editor for selected nurbs CV under components on shape node, or just 'move x y z', or xform ..or setAttr ...something should do the trick for ya!

Follow-up: I found my answer, and it's very simple actually. If you want numeric precision over scaling or rotating multiple points, instead of clicking on Scale or Rotate, use "Edit Polygons > Move Component" instead - then you can numerically rotate, scale all the points to zero on an axis, anything you want from the channel box.

schtupid. rotate and scale, not translate (read boy, read!). with you now. yuh, cluster/latt, or polyMove to get a transform on them, along w float fields.

The fastest way to numerically transform is to use the text type in box in the upper right of the UI. Right by the sel dropdown. The drop allows you to change mode to movement type-ins.

No history for this, but you wanted fast...

needs to jigged for _component_ rotate or scale transformations tho (as joojaa thought might've been the case), should be pretty easy tho.
