Nurbs attach problem

i have a couple of nurbs surfaces that im trying to attach. Every time i run attach it attachs the surfaces incorrectly. There are 7 seperate surfaces that im trying to attach. they originated on a seperate surface that i duplicated the surface patches for. ive tried both connect and blend options but neither gives appropriate results. thanks

Try selecting the edges of the two surfaces and then attach

Selecting the isoparms and trying to attach also doesnt work

Yes well the target surface must have same nuber of spans... cut the bigger surface strategicaly up and try again!

im only trying to attach the surface in the front and it does have the same number of spans, ignore the surface in the back : ) all the individual squares on the forground surface is what im trying to attach...when i duplicated the surface patches it seperated them all.

try adding a extra iso's in uv on each patch, attach, then uniform rebuild to desired uv spans. Maya has issues with tangency & attaches when there is not enough res and each of the patches appear to fall in this problem. this should work. it appears that your tangency cv's are making your desired patch shapes, with not enough res/iso's maya will delete these tangency cv's when you attach resulting in a different shape of surface.

They don't look like they have the same number of spans. I can't post an image, but your patch layout is roughly

ABC
DDE
FGG

where each letter corresponds to a separate surface. So you cannot attach A to D for example, as they have different numbers of CVs in that direction. What should work is to go horizontally, ie attach A to B to C, attach D to E, and attach F to G. Then attach the three rows. Hope that makes sense.
