Hi guys,

I am trying to model a car using NURBS. I am having problem in trimming this freeform fillet surface. Either it gets darker without being trimmed or I get this following error message.

// Warning: Trim: changed to keep originals on; curves on surface have construction history with the dependency on the surface itself.

Please guide me on this. I tried deleting the history and also tried shifting the curve on the surface but none worked.

Please find the screen shot of the model.

Best Regards,

I get this following error message.

// Warning: Trim: changed to keep originals on; curves on surface have
construction history with the dependency on the surface itself.

its NOT a error message, just a warning*. Its not enough to delete teh history of the surface you need to delete history of the curves on sufface too.

  • this is pretty common if you take allmost any of your scenes unless your really experienced user you will have theese around (even in poly or subdiv modelling tough they dont emit a warning). Not tht any experienced would ever remove these untilll hist job is fully done. After all maya is about building history.

PS: In anticipation of your next question, the aswer is increase tesselation.

Thank you Joojaa for your valuable response.
I tried deleting the history of the curve on surface and increased the isoparms too, but it is not working for me somehow. Trimming is not happening.

When I am projecting a curve on surface it is trimming on the very surface but not in the above method, by intersecting a NURBS surface into another one > applying circular fillet with a curve on surface option ON.
