NURBS Modeling Using Control Vertex

Hello - can anyone provide some helpful tips regarding modeling a NURBS sphere by moving vertexes?

I am trying to model a head using this method, however I often have problems with vertex's getting too close to each other or not being able to get some of the curves of the face properly.

Basically, I am wondering if there is a way to move vertex's without getting lost with too many vertexes in one place, etc.

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CG

Hi.
I would recomend rebuilding the geometry often to keep it cleaner every time you add more geometry.

You do know you can select a vertex and cycle through them with the directional buttons on the keyboard?

Also, go as far as you can shaping with the absolute LEAST geometry possibble before adding more isoperms.

hope that helps alittle...Good Luck!

A good way to prevent blackface culling (selecting vertices on the back of the model) Is to use the paint selection tool, (you can lower or increase the diameter with B button and left mouse button drag.) If you have many vertices on top of each other, you can marquee drag and then open the channel box and the verticy coordinates will be displayed, you can select them here, or you can marquee drag them and select them in the component editor. The positions of the vertices can be manually entered by these methods as well.

Thank you Autumn and BLK. Both tips are very useful and I will keep these in mind for the future.
