Nurbs surface blending problems,

Me Again.
I have modeled a head with nurbs, I started with a profile of half a head and duplicated and rotated and reshaped it.
I continued this until i had half a head, I then used effect symmertry and so on, finally, my problem is cant merge the head together successfully? it is perfectly lined up, I used merge surfaces but I can only merge either the front of the head or the back of the head? Please help.

You are almost there. Once you merge the front or back half, then you use Draw/OpenClose.

To help you remember:
Merge works on two objects, and OpenClose works on a single object.
