I have an extruded nurbs coil made from a spline helix and a circle. I'm trying to put the checkerboard texture on it, but the texture gets stretched. How can i fix this? I tried the Fix Texture Warp setting, but that didn't do anything. Any suggestions?

Is the texture a projection or using the UV's(Normal)?
I believe I assigned it to the cvs (normal). I just made a blinn texture, placed the checkerboard pattern in the color node, and then assigned the material to the nurbs shape.
