I work on a project where several 3D artists share models so they can be animated and textured in 3ds max: I import from obj and 3ds formats. However, something is really pissing me off.
Whenever I import one of these god forsaken files, the face normals of the model are messed up: random faces are flipped to their dark side and thus I can't select them as easily. It's really driving me nuts, because if we can't use those models we're pretty much dead.
I've tried the Normal modifier in conjunction with Unify Normals already and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
