Hi all,
I need to define a relationships of the contact/constraint nature between objects. For example, in defining an "scratch/itch" for my character, I need to define a contact between the fingers and say the leg, then upon that contact, perform an itch animation. How would I generally define this contact in Mel? I have a Full Body IK set up for my character.
Thanks a lot!
Ok I'll try to be a bit more elaborate regarding the problem statement. Here's a simple example, I wish to constrain a hand to a table such that the hand will not penetrate the table. I am using full body IK.
the full body IK floor contacts do not work in this case since the table will be treated as a floor, and also it applies to both hands and kind of messes up everything. (Or maybe I'm just not doing it right, but I can't seem to get it to work with floor contacts)
Other type of constraints like point aim etc are not applicable. I also tried geometry constraint, but the hand still goes right through the table.
Setting a minimum limit on the translate Y does not work since I want that limit to work just on the table not everywhere.
I guess basically I'm asking how to define constraints between objects and characters when Maya's constraints do not help.
Any help? I may have to write a mel script, but have no idea where to start.
Thanks in advance.
