Hi there,
I'm having a issue where i want to constraint a locator to a poly vertex without the use of clusters. Is this possible? Is there perhaps a mel script out there to do this by any chance, or its just can't be done? I've asked in other forums but i get no answer to this but using clusters which I really don't want to use. Perhaps someone here knows something i truly don't . Thanks in advance!

to constraint a locator the the vertex -> use rivet.mel
To costraint vertex to locator (wich is constraint the other way around ie locator controlls vertex, not vertex controlls locator) use cluster OR then connect the cluster translate to the points local position array (wich means they need tpo be in same local spacve or you must use some nodegimics to tralate it there).
Hi Joojaa,
In fact I am trying to have the vertex drive the locator so i can parent objects such as arrows to the characters body, buttons, knife. I tried that rivet.mel and its cool but for polys you need to select 2 edges for it to work. If i knew how to edit the script i'd change it to work with poly vertex. Other than clusters don't cut it for what i'm trying to do.
Duplicate edge of polygon (there is such possibility) and use it as motionPath for locator. Turn off Follow feature. This would do pointConstrain. Also if You want to have locator rotation constrained, then use normalConstraint.
drBlacksnake, how hard would it be to make a mel script so it can make a locator constraint to each point? btw thx for the replies
Read the funking first line please.
Download rivet.mel! from this site. Your never going to get an aswer if you allways ignore the answer.
I sjut poited out thet theres 2 possible things ylou mean by constrauning so i covered all the bases. II mena i dont think i can bend this out enay clearer now.
