I've been modeling this face in my spare time (still need some tweeking on the nose, wrinkles) - going to start modeling the body...
lookin good.
Very nice... for a consistent 'old' look I'd add more wrinkles (though of course a lot of that will be in the bump map)... right now the wrinkles around the eyes are great, but the forehead and mouth seem quite youthfully smooth by comparison.
When it comes to wrinkles and fleshy facial masses, a little bit of asymmetry goes a loooong way, too. ![]()
Great work, thanks for sharing!

Impressive! can't wait to see it completed.
top quality model, very professional lookin! keep up the good work!
Wow , I was shocked when I first saw this model, trully the best model of a face I have seen in the last 5 months. Would it be possible for you to post a low res cage of your character.
Thanks
here's the subdivision wireframe
Thanks so much.
okay...awesome model! the seam kills me. no reason for a seam...and the model is soooooooo good otherwise.
where the seam comes together may cause the bridge of the nose and cleft of the top lip to be too far apart. then again, that could be a character trait.
awesome work
adam
well - i didn't merge the two parts together yet
one half is just a copy of the other - so it's still work in progress...when i merge together the two halfs the hard edge on the nose should disappear....
i've been told he doesn't look old - i was planing him to be in his 70's
Amazing model, you've really captured something. If I was going to be picky though, I would say his eyes are a little too far apart or maybe too small (or both
).
Otherwise, an amazing model, well done

He's definately not seventy...more like 50 and ready for the RV/tour-the-country retirement plan. Still, though, very clean, and from the look of the wireframe, very neatly done. Nice stuff.
Completely random thought:
As I was reading the last post, saying 'he looks 50 rather than 70,' I suddenly realised what one of the reasons for this is.
His nose is too small.
The human face is funny like that: the ears and nose never really stop growing, while the rest of the face does (and moreover, starts to sink and sag and hollow). This gives rise to the stereotypical old-man charicature with the big floppy ears and the beak nose (think Pixar's short 'Geri's Game'... 'Geri' of course being a pun on 'geriatric').
So try scaling that nose up a little and see if it adds a few years. Just a suggestion.
Again, it's a great model, thanks for sharing.

Another thing to think of besides increasing the nose size (don't forget the ears as well). Men with that much weight rarely live to 70 years of age. That is a reason why a well padded face gives the impression of a man in his late middle years.
If you want to keep the weight, then you'll need to have more sag in the flesh. The elasticity of a 70 year olds skin is very poor.
