One big hard drive or two small ones?

is it better to have a single 40gig hard drive or 2 20gig drives? (one with the OS and the other being used as the working drive for all your files)
would the 2 20gig drive setup gain a significant boost in performance. (raid not being considered in this example)

get 2 small ones. because when working on a project and the application is has to access the files from the os...and the files that your working on..
its a lot easier for the computer if you split that load to 2 hard drives than letting 1 hard drive do all the work...

..and it's always nice to have your data on another drive for when you need to reinstall your OS ;O
