PAIE export Error- cannot export animation only poses

I get this error when trying to export animation via PAIE; "unrecognized tangent type. use auto, clamped, fixed, flat, linear, plateau, spline, step, or stepnext." This is very frustrating and I have used PAIE for years and never had any issue, I am using maya 2016.5. I can export and import poses but not animation at all Can someone help me get PAIE working again please?
